Lydia Sarfati is the founder and CEO of Sarkli Repêchage, Ltd., one of the first companies to bring seaweed-based skin care treatments and cosmetics to the United States market. As an industry leader, she has developed the world-renowned Four Layer Facial that currently is offered in more than 20 countries.

Today, Sarfati presides over a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing, research and development and training facility located in Secaucus, New Jersey. In 1977, she opened a day spa in Manhattan, and she continues to operate the Repêchage Spa de Beauté in New York City. Sarfati’s concept has been implemented at more than 150 salons worldwide, and she serves as a consultant for top destination spas in Los Angeles, Anguilla and Japan.

As a pioneer and arbiter of standards in the field of esthetics, Sarfati’s skin care method is practiced by top members of the profession throughout the world and is taught at the Lydia Sarfati Postgraduate School of Esthetics at her New Jersey location. She appears regularly at tradeshows and conferences in such countries as Asia, Europe, Central and South America and the Middle East. In addition, Sarfati is a prolific writer and contributing editor, having produced 11 step-by-step instructional videos, as well as The Lydia Sarfati Postgraduate Book of Esthetics, a comprehensive text of skin conditions, skin care, body treatments and medical esthetics pertaining to preoperative and postoperative protocols.

Sarfati is the founding president of the Esthetics Manufacturers and Distributors Alliance (EMDA), is a board member of the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and is a member of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), Fashion Group International (FGI), Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors, Inc. (ICMAD) and the National Cosmetology Association (NCA). She also serves as honorary chairperson of Esthetics America, as well as CIDESCO Federation USA.

Recently, Sarfati was presented with the ICMAD Cosmetic Entrepreneur Award for Leadership. This year, she was the first honoree from a skin care company to be recognized at the ABA-sponsored 19th Annual American Beauty Ball and Charity Gala benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
